BMFV Genre Watch: February 8th - 14th!

It's a few days late, but that doesn't mean that it is not worth checking out. This week's Genre Watch entry features a solid slate of DVD and Blu-ray releases, as well as the theatrical premiere of "Friday the 13th." Here's hoping that this all new Jason Voorhees adventure will breathe some life back into ye olde "Friday" franchise which has suffered horribly since 1989's "Jason Takes Manhattan."

Here are some of the cool DVDs and Blu-ray discs you can buy or rent this week:

Against the Dark (Steven Seagal vs. Vampires!)
Back the the Future I, II, & III (Sold seperately for the first time! Great scott!)
Chocolate (Autistic girl kicks the crap out of the Yakuza!)
Dragon Ball Z: Season 8 (KA-ME-HA-ME-HA!)
My Name is Bruce (Don't call him "Ash!")
Street Fighter: The Movie - Extreme Edition (Universal's vain attempt to make its money back on this video-game based shitfest.)

Check back next week for a depressingly short Genre Watch, and stay tuned for more new reviews!

New capsule review for "The Ghouligans! Super Show!" + New installment of The BMFV Genre Watch!

The updates just keep coming! Tonight I posted a review for the fun indie short, "The Ghouligans! Super Show!" This forty-minute sketch comedy show features a ragtag group of goofy monsters, a trio of cute go-go girls, and overdubbed luchadors in all sorts of humorous situations. (Learn more about this flick and get yourself a copy at the Official Ghouligans website!)

And just in time to do your DVD and Blu-ray shopping tomorrow, here is the latest installment of the now weekly, B-Movie Film Vault Genre Watch! Notable DVD and Blu-ray releases include: "HULK VS.," "Dead & Buried," "Dead of Night," and "Redneck Zombies: 20th Anniversary Edition!" Sadly, the only genre release in theaters this week is "The Uninvited." It looks ok, but seems more like a solid rental to me. In my opinion, if you want to spend nine bucks at a movie theater this weekend, then go see "Taken" with Liam Neeson.

All of this updating has made me pretty tired, so I'm going to retire for the evening and watch a flick or two. G'night b-movie fans!

This week's Genre Watch post is a go; update to the B-MFV DVD shop!

The updates just keep on coming folks! I've decided that doing Genre Watch as a weekly thing would be easier, and far less time consuming in the long run. If you're not sure what b-flicks are coming out this week, then you best CLICK HERE and find out!

The B-Movie Film Vault DVD Shop has gotten a little lovin' and is now fully integrated into the rest of the site. While this isn't really a big deal to you, it is something that has bugged me for some time, and I'm glad that I finally took care of business.

If you do swing by the shop and have a few spare bucks, feel free to do a little shopping. As I've stated before, every purchase you make through that store (or on any affiliate links on my site) earns yours truly a little spare change to keep the Vault online.

Well that's it for now, but be prepared for more reviews, a new section to the site, and various changes that can only make The B-Movie Film Vault better.

Issue #1 of The B-Movie Film Vault GENRE WATCH is online!

After weeks of tweaking code, painstakingly pouring through websites to get all the necessary info I needed, and putting it all into an easy to digest format, I am happy to present the first issue of The B-Movie Film Vault's GENRE WATCH! I'd tell you more about it, but I'm pretty darned tired and I think this new section of the Vault will speak for itself. Head on over and see what DVD, Blu-ray, and theatrical releases all of us cult and b-movie fans have to look forward to this month and feel free to leave a comment. Any feedback concerning the Genre Watch blog would be greatly appreciated.

Well g'night b-movie fans; I'll blog ya later!
