TAKE A SURVIVAL QUIZ FOR A CHANCE AT A PURGE PRIZE-PACK!

The long-awaited sequel to "THE BINGE."

THE PURGE hits theaters this weekend and I for one am definitely planning on seeing this new home invasion flick. What's it all about? Well, in the not-too-distant future, to help bring the crime-rate down, each year a day is selected for the annual PURGE. All crime is totally legal for a 12-hour span, so you can finally realize your dreams of knocking off a liquor store, or murdering someone, or burning down a house filled with orphans and kittens. (Also, you can legally kidnap Nicholas Cage, have bees sting the sh*t out of his face, and then toss him in a giant Wicker Man and light it on fire!)

One particular family is more than ready for this terrifying night... until their daughter opens the doors to save a desperate man that arrives on their doorstep. This act of charity leads to a siege on the house by masked marauders who will stop at nothing to get inside. Will Ethan Hawke and Lena (Cersei from GAME OF THRONES) Headey survive the night?!

So what if a "purge" law was passed by our Congress and President; would you be able to survive the night? If you think so, prove it by taking the official PURGE SURVIVAL QUIZ:

But you don't have to take this quiz "just for fun," because I am giving you the chance to win a cool PURGE PRIZE-PACK from UNIVERSAL! To enter, take the quiz and post your results in the comments section below; you may only enter ONCE! However, if you want to up your chances of walking away with some cool freebies, on June 7th, make sure you tweet #SurviveTheNight and #ThePurge, and also be sure to mention @BMovieFilmVault as well!

After the film's opening weekend (i.e. MONDAY), a winner will be chosen at random and announced.Your prize? An official THE PURGE t-shirt and mask!

The mask also doubles as a ping-pong paddle.
So take the quiz, post your results below, and pass this around to get your friends in on the action! And don't miss THE PURGE which once again, hits theaters on Friday, June 7th!

Note: The prize-pack will be mailed out via UPS or Fed-Ex. Only U.S. residents are eligible; NO P.O. BOXES! If you're chosen as the winner, contact me immediately with your name and mailing address. If I don't hear from you within 24 hours, I'll choose a new winner! Good luck everyone!

Halloween contest winners + Hudson Horror Show 666!

Greetings b-movie fans! The holiday season has suddenly arrived and is keeping me extremely busy at work and at home. Because of this, I haven't had much time to do anything with The Vault (or any of my other blogs or sites for that matter), but fear not for I have not abandoned my dark little corner of the web!

The first thing I want to do before I start talking up a certain film festival that's happening NEXT WEEKEND, is give a hearty congrats to the winners of the Vault's two Halloween giveaways. Last month, I asked readers and Facebook fans to send me photos of their jack-o-lanterns and latest Halloween costumes. Several entries were turned in, but two gents won the day, and walked away with some kick ass prizes. (Which included a "Halloween II / Halloween III: Season of the Witch" double feature DVD and a 2-disc "Zombi 2" Shriek Show DVD w/mini poster.) Here are the photos that the winners sent in; great stuff guys! Congrats on winning; I hope you enjoyed your prizes!

James Tompson as Jason Voorhees!

Amazing pumpkin carving awesomeness, courtesy of Brandon Fields!

With that taken care of, it is time to talk about my all-time favorite cult film festival, namely the HUDSON HORROR SHOW! This sixth incarnation of the increasingly popular film fest boasts one of the best lineups I have ever seen!

Yes, you are reading that correctly folks; there are indeed SIX awesome flicks included in the show! I've seen all but two of them ("Switchblade Sisters," and "Black Christmas"), and as an added bonus, I haven't seen any of them on the big screen before. In an era where all theaters are being forced to go digital, it will be a real treat to catch all six films in glorious 35MM! As the poster above says, the show is located at the Silver Cinemas in Poughkeepsie, NY! The fest begins at 1 PM and seats WILL SELL OUT, so if you plan on going, shoot over to www.hudsonhorror.com now and pre-order yourself a ticket! Even if you don't, you should get there early to snap up any remaining tickets and two snag one of their limited edition t-shirts!

Also, I have to note that I will not only be attending the event, but I'll also be giving away some cool swag (DVDs, posters, and more!) in between films, so be sure to brush up on your Horror/cult film trivia AND work on delivering your best Ah-nuld Schwarzenegger impression! Also be sure to bring a pillow to sit on (the seats can be unforgivably uncomfortable) and extra cash, because there will be vendors selling books, comics, action figures, posters, artwork, and DVDs at the theater entrance!

Finally..... I want to wish you all a fantastic Thanksgiving Day! Hopefully you have the day off from work so you can chow down and spend some quality time with your families. Remember to chew your food before swallowing, unbutton your pants and/or loosen your belt in order to fit more food into your belly, and if you decide to go out Black Friday shopping be sure to bring protection. I highly suggest riot gear, a tranquilizer gun and/or tazer, and a mug of hot coffee. The latter will give you the extra energy you need to race past other shoppers to discounted items, or it could serve as a weapon too!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM ALL OF US HERE AT THE B-MOVIE FILM VAULT!

Halloween Contest at the Vault - ENTER NOW!

Hey all! Bet you thought you'd never see anything new around The Vault eh? Well you're wrong... DEAD WRONG.... err... maybe just plain incorrect. In any case, Halloween is a week away (WOO!) and it is contest time here at the Vault! Two contests are running from RIGHT NOW until midnight on All Hallow's Eve, so you best get your entries in ASAP!

CONTEST #1: THE COSTUME CONTEST
Send me a photo of yourself in your latest Halloween costume. Store bought or homemade, it doesn't matter! Just try and WOW me with your creativity, or the size of your bank account. Send a pic of yourself decked out in your Halloween garb to vault_master@bmoviefilmvault.com, or send the photo to me at the Vault's Facebook page (to do so, you have to LIKE the Vault on Facebook, which I totally suggest you do because I'm always posting mini-reviews, movie news, and contest links on a daily basis!). This is a totally open contest for all ages; if enough people get entries in I'll prob create a few categories for costumes (e.g. kids, adults, sexy costumes, etc.) because I have quite a few awesome DVDs and VHS tapes to give away!

The Vault Master as The Angel of Macho Man Randy Savage! OOOOHHH YEEEEAH!

CONTEST #2: THE PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST
There are a lot of folks out there that have turned pumpkin carving into an art form. Show me what you got this Halloween season and carve yourself an award winning pumpkin. Then take a picture of it and send it to me on Facebook (LIKE THE VAULT to do so) or e-mail it to me at vault_master@bmoviefilmvault.com! Please, enter your OWN work, and don't steal photos off the web and sent them in. For this reason, make sure YOU are in the pic with your (possibly) prize-winning jack-o-lantern!

Pumpkin carved by my best friend. Stupid face courtesy of yours truly.

THE PRIZES
So why should you dress up or carve a pumpkin this year? (Other than because it's friggin' Halloween time!) Because I am giving away some cool DVDs and VHS tapes. I'm still sorting this portion of the contest out (and probably will be up until Halloween night) but I can say without a doubt that two awesome SOMETHING WEIRD VHS COMPILATIONS are up for grabs, as well as SHRIEK SHOW'S TWO-DISC ZOMBI DVD RELEASE (with a cool ZOMBI mini-poster!). I have a few other discs lying around that I will also part with, and will announce them soon as well.

So get going fellow Halloweeners because the clock... is.... TICKING!

And the winner of the JOE ESTEVEZ GIVEAWAY is.....

B.C. Clemmons, come on down! Out of the fourteen folks who entered, your name was drawn, which means you now have some bragging rights AND a copy of "Joe Estevez: Wiping off the Sheen" which was signed by Joe himself! You also get two DVD-Rs of "Soultaker" and "MST3K: Soultaker!" ENJOY!

Don't feel bad if you missed out on all that cool stuff because I still have another big contest going on at the moment! Pitch me your dream "Friday the 13th" movie and really try hard to sell me on it. If I choose your idea, you will win ALL TWELVE "Friday the 13th" movies on DVD PLUS a cool "Friday the 13th Part VIII" mini-poster that is signed by Kane Hodder!

The contest has been going for just over a week now and ends on July 13th at midnight! I will then pick a winner and post a video showcasing the winning movie pitch! So hurry up and get your entries in, because this contest is ending in ten days!

For more details (and ideas) CLICK HERE! Good luck slasher fans!

WIN ALL 12 FRIDAY THE 13TH FILMS ON DVD! WINNER WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON FRIDAY THE 13TH!

Before I tell you how you can win all TWELVE "Friday the 13th" movies on DVD (along with a Kane Hodder autograph!), allow me to once again remind all of you that the JOE ESTEVEZ GIVEAWAY is still going on until next Saturday (June 30th)! CLICK HERE for details! The winner gets a copy of the book "Joe Estevez: Wiping off the Sheen" signed by Joe Estevez himself, as well as a copy of SOULTAKER on DVD-R! Enter now because this month is moving by very quickly!

ENTER OR DIE!
Now, moving on to my next contest (which will be the last big giveaway I have for some time.... you guys and gals are bankrupting me! Haha!), you read that correctly folks! I am indeed giving away ALL TWELVE "Friday the 13th" films on DVD! So how do you win this stack o' movies?! Well, I'm glad you asked! Prepare to do some work over the next three and a half weeks!

To enter, I want you to pretend you are pitching a new "Friday the 13th" movie to me, as if I were a producer at a major film company. It's your dream project and you think you've got a fresh idea to bring the franchise back in a big way, so you are DESPERATE to gain my approval. But I won't be easily swayed. Sure, maybe you've got a cool idea, but it'll take a bit more than a few ideas scribbled on paper to make me cough up the dough for your expensive "fan film."

So develop a really cool pitch about your dream "Friday the 13th" movie. Write up a synopsis or mini-treatment describing the story, characters, and crazy hijinks Mr. Voorhees (if he IS the real killer in your film) will get in to. Also, come up with a fake poster, or a fake trailer, or a storyboard, or concept art, etc. and really try to sell me on your idea. Will you make it a sequel? A remake? A reboot? A crossover? Will Jason battle or team up with other Horror villains? The sky is the limit!

To answer your next barrage of questions: E-mail your "movie pitches" to vault_master@bmoviefilmvault.com ON OR BEFORE JULY 13TH! As midnight strikes and we enter SATURDAY THE 14TH, I will be announcing a winner of this contest! Once again, if I choose your film pitch, you will be getting all twelve flicks that make up this crazy slasher franchise! (Plus a miniature Friday the 13th Part VIII poster signed by KANE HODDER!)

So get moving folks because you only have three weeks to pull this off! Good luck, and may the best slasher fan/future movie mogul win!

JOOOOINNNN US!

Win a copy of JOE ESTEVEZ: WIPING OFF THE "SHEEN!"

In my last post I mentioned this here Joe Estevez book that just came out. (Mainly that I got quoted on the back of it. Still can't believe it, though my eyes tell me it's true! Haha.) Not only have I read through it (which I will be doing again because I plan on typing up a review of it) but I've also acquired a second copy that I am ready to hand off to one lucky winner in this month's JOE ESTEVEZ GIVEAWAY!

If you want to win a copy of this book (which will come with a few other Joe Estevez-related goodies) here's how you can enter for a chance to win it:

Send an e-mail to me at vault_master@bmoviefilmvault.com with JOE ESTEVEZ GIVEAWAY (or anything similar) in the subject line. In the body of your e-mail include your name, full mailing address, AND briefly tell me about a sibling of a famous actor/actress that you would like to see get more respect, exposure, and/or roles in major motion pictures. (e.g. FRANK STALLONE!)

The cut-off for entries is June 30th, so send them in ASAP and cross your fingers. A winner will be chosen at random on July 1st; the prize(s) will be shipped the following day! Good luck and may The Estevez be with you!

Create a Kaiju Contest + Go See Cabin in the Woods + new article at the Vault!

Not too long ago, I issues a statement at the Vault's Facebook page that I would do a big contest if I hit 1,000 likes. In almost no time at all, people clicked on enough "like" buttons to surpass that milestone. So now, it is up to me to deliver on that promise. Therefore, because I happened to be glancing at one of the numerous items in my Godzilla collection at the time, I am having a CREATE A KAIJU CONTEST at the Vault!

WIN ME!
Design your own original giant monster! Create it, name it, write up a quick story about its origins, strengths, powers, and weaknesses, and then send it to vault_master@bmoviefilmvault.com! You can draw your monster, paint it, use photoshop, build a costume and film it, use legos or clay, create it with computer animation, or whatever else you can come up with. The sky is the limit in regards to how you make your monster and present it to me. Creativity is key here!

The grand prize for creating the ultimate daikaiju? An awesome Godzilla prize pack featuring: Classic Media's "8" film GODZILLA COLLECTION on DVD, which contains Gojira, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Godzilla Raids Again, Mothra vs. Godzilla, Ghidrah: The Three-Headed Monster, Invasion of the Astro Monster, Godzilla's Revenge, and Terror of Mechagodzilla! Along with that, you'll get a cool Godzilla t-shirt (size of your choice), a bad-ass Bandai Godzilla figure, and I may even toss in a Godzilla comic book to sweeten the deal!

And if you don't win the big prize, don't fret too much as there will prizes for TWO runners-up, who will each walk away with their heads held high and a new Godzilla DVD in their hands! The contest is officially a go, so start sending in your entries ASAP! The deadline for entries is May 19th at midnight; winners will be picked and announced the following day!

Good luck fellow Godzilla fans, and may the best kaiju creator win! (Note: Also be sure to include your name, mailing address, and t-shirt size along with your entry.)

Alright, with that out of the way, I want all of you reading this to do me a huge favor: go see "Cabin in the Woods!" This is the coolest, freshest, and most interesting Horror film to come out in a very long time and it is getting its butt kicked in the box office. Despite the fact that hundreds of critics and horror fans have loved and praised it, "Cabin" has only managed to hit the number three spot in the box office top ten (a mere three-million less than "The 3 Stooges").

Therefore, since "The Hunger Games" is starting to wind down in popularity, and because NOTHING good is coming out this week, I beseech all of you cult, b-film, and horror movie fans to hit the theaters this week(end) and see "Cabin in the Woods." It's funny, it's cool, and if you go into it without spoilers, you will have a blast trying to figure out what the Hell is going on. It is a guaranteed good time at the movies!

If we all pull together and lift this movie up to number two, or even better, number one in the box office, studios will have no choice but to take notice and rethink their continued idiotic strategy of making watered-down PG-13 junk. I've already seen it twice and wouldn't mind a third go round; let's send Hollywood a message!

Finally, I've posted a new article here at the Vault featuring six incredible independent films that you should be completely stoked to see. It's a good, varied list featuring a new horror anthology that boasts 26 directors, a feature-length "mix-tape" full of fake cult movie trailers, a new hipster slasher flick, a comedic horror/LARPing/fantasy film, a Space-Nazi sci-fi epic, and a highly anticipated sequel to one of the greatest indie film franchises of all time. Ladies and gentleman, I present to you six more INDIE FILMS YOU SHOULD BE STOKED FOR (VOLUME III)!

That's it for today, but expect a few new reviews to pop up on the site very soon. And don't forget that I'm still giving away a few DVDs all this month  including a limited edition DVD of "Dead in Love" which is signed by the director and cast, plus both of the original "Hills Have Eyes" movies on DVD. Full details for winning those can be found in this blog post.

Win tickets to the premiere of THE DEMON MESSENGER + The winners of the MY BLOODY VALENTINE GIVEAWAY!

Hey all! Yeah I know... long time no post. I've been busy, and tired, and sick, and sick and tired of being sick and tired. But now I'm back to bring you good tidings. First, I would like to announce that I have TWO TICKETS to give away for the world premiere of THE DEMON MESSENGER, a new indie monster movie that was filmed in and around the Southern Tier of NY / Northeastern PA. I got to catch a sneak peek of it this past Saturday and I gotta say, few micro-budget films can boast a monster as impressive as the one featured in this movie.

The film debuts at the Art Mission Theater in Binghamton, NY on Friday, April 13th at 7:30 PM. Seating is limited so get there early and get your tickets... or save yourself the trouble and enter right now to win the aforementioned free pair of tix! Just send off a quick e-mail to vault_master@bmoviefilmvault.com with a short note about your favorite Bigfoot and/or demon movie, and you're entered. I'll choose a winner on April 6th and either mail you the tickets or give them to you in person at the film's premiere! (I'll leave that up to you!) For the full list of showtimes, check out the image below. (Click to enlarge.)

Ok, next order of duty is to salute the winners of my recent My Bloody Valentine Giveaway which ended this past Saturday. The grand prize, which consisted of a brand new super limited edition My Bloody Valentine t-shirt from Fright-Rags, an 11 x 14 photo still of Harry Warden, and both "My Bloody Valentine" movies was (the epically named) Jesse James Hennessy. He sent in a video he posted on Youtube that is just... plain... awesome. Here is his entry, entitled "Poetry is Torture:"

The first runner up was Mike MacConnell who turned in a cool drawing featuring two of his most beloved cinematic monsters. It wasn't technically a valentine to his favorite Horror characters, but a bit of love for Freddy and Frankenstein's Monster obviously went into this. Great job Mike; enjoy the "My Bloody Valentine" DVD! (Don't forget to watch it UNCUT!)

The second runner up was a man that seems to be able to win stuff from me on a frequent basis, and at this rate, he's going to need a bigger DVD rack. Chris Laycox (a.k.a. the enigmatic Chris L.) won me over with a well-written poem in honor of his favorite Horror film, and its resident monstrosity, Belial. Check it out:

What's in the basket? - By Chris L.
It's not Easter eggs or laundry,
nor tools or a severed head.
But if I knew what was in the basket,
I'd probably end up dead.
I really want to know,
there's some people who found out.
Doctor Liflander was first,
and his midsection was ripped out.
Harold Needleman got a visit,
he soon won't forget.
He tried to warn another,
but that night he paid his debt.
That poor little O'Donovan,
was greedy to say the least.
Went in to steal some money,
looked like he got killed by a beast.
A simple trip to the vet,
turned into a hellish place.
Veterinarian Doctor Kutter,
got 5 scalpels in her face.
I really want to know,
but I might end up in a casket.
Maybe I should stop asking... what's in the basket?

Great stuff Chris; your "My Bloody Valentine" DVD will be in the mail soon; hope your son enjoys it!

Well that's all I've got for now b-movie fans! Hurry up and enter to win those DEMON MESSENGER tickets, and prepare for more giveaways and (GASP!) new reviews! That's right, I have a new review for "The Demon Messenger" in the works (rough draft is nearly complete) plus I've gotten two new capsule reviews to post from the Vault's newest contributor, Kenny B. (Be sure to check out his other reviews over at Cinema Head Cheese!)

Stay tuned for more awesomeness, and don't forget to like the Vault on Facebook and follow me on Twitter!

New giveaway at the Vault, Hudson Horror Show update, and the Great Horror Movie Empire Fiasco of 2012.

Hey all, your friendly neighborhood movie riffer/scribe here to announce a new contest. How would YOU like to win a Fright-Rags' LIMITED EDITION "MY BLOODY VALENTINE" T-SHIRT (size: XL) and a copy of both MY BLOODY VALENTINE (the 1981 classic) and MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D (your choice of DVD or Blu-ray)?! Having second thoughts? Really? Then check out this shirt design:

You know you want it....

Now that I have your full attention, here's how to win this awesome prize pack. To enter, create a valentine and/or poem to your favorite Horror film slasher, be it Harry Warden, Jason Voorhees, Leatherface, Freddy Krueger, Cropsy, etc. Entries can be done in a variety of ways. You can write a poem (which you can e-mail to me at vault_master@bmoviefilmvault.com), use your artistic skills and draw something up (e-mail it to me or post it on the Vault's Facebook page), create something with photoshop (again, e-mail it to me or Facebook it), or even shoot a video valentine and post it to Youtube. The sky is the limit here!

Get creative, start working your magic, and get your entries in by March 24th! The winner gets the prize pack mentioned above, but two runner ups will also walk away with a copy of My Bloody Valentine or My Bloody Valentine 3D (on DVD or Blu-ray).

Next up, here's a bit o' news about the upcoming (MAY 19TH!) HUDSON HORROR SHOW! The full roster has been announced (except for that pesky 5TH MYSTERY MOVIE!) and it is SOLID! If you attend (and you should) you will see 35MM screenings of FRIDAY THE 13TH (UNCUT!), DAY OF THE DEAD, PHANTASM, and the crazy awesome Hammer/Shaw Bros. co-production of LEGEND OF THE 7 GOLDEN VAMPIRES! Get your advance tickets now over at www.hudsonhorror.com (the last show sold out!) and save money for the vendors that will be there peddling their goods! It's a great show, with tons of giveaways, awesome trailer reels, and one of the best film festival line-ups I've ever seen, so don't miss out!

Finally, I'd just like to say a quick word to those of you who have recently (within the last two months) shopped at Horror Movie Empire. First off, I jumped right in and spent just under $200 on that site's (now literally too-good-to-be-true) Blue Underground and Code Red sales back in late December/early January, and have yet to A.) get any of the discs I ordered and B.) have a reply to any of the e-mails I've sent. As I understand it, the site is a one-man operation, and apparently this guy got WAY more orders than he had anticipated. Also, he probably did not expect the insane backlash that occurred weeks later when hundreds (thousands?) of angry customers started to blow up his Twitter feed and Facebook page. (The latter of which was taken down because things got reeeeal ugly on there.)

So as it stands, it has been two months since I have placed my orders and I'm still empty-handed, and I know there's quite a few of you out there who are too. Personally, I don't want a refund; I want the stuff I paid for because I most likely will never be able to find any of those discs that cheap anywhere else. And heck, even if I did want a refund, it'd probably be another few weeks before I saw the money. This is just a really shitty scenario all around.

With all that said, if you got burned by Horror Movie Empire in the last two months, don't feel left out. You are far from alone. But there is still hope for some of us....

Supposedly the Horror Movie Empire "staff" will be at the next Monster Mania convention in Cherry Hill (less than three weeks away! YAY!) so I am planning on paying them a personal visit. I am bringing my invoices with me in hopes of getting at some (but preferably all) of the stuff I've already paid for, or at the very least, get my cash back. And I figure if I have a few other people come with me to their table/booth, they'll be even more eager to help us out. (No, we're not going to perform a lynching, just you know... strength in numbers and all that.) So e-mail me (vault_master@bmoviefilmvault.com) if you're going to the convention, and we'll unite our powers for TRUTH, JUSTICE, and BLU-RAYS! (And DVDs too!)

However, if you cannot make it to the convention, feel free to e-mail me your Horror Movie Empire invoices (complete with added complaints, to vault_master@bmoviefilmvault.com) and I'll be sure to pass them along and maybe walk away with some of your stuff. (Which I will gladly ship to you, at no charge, because "The Vault Master" is awesome like that.) It's a shot in the dark, but this is the best plan I've got and totally hinges on whether or not they even show up at the con.

That's all I've got for you right now folks, but before I go, here's a quick recap: ENTER MY NEW CONTEST (be sure to like the Vault on Facebook too by the way, and share my FB page with your friends!), GO TO THE HUDSON HORROR SHOW ON MAY 19TH, and DO NOT SHOP AT HORROR MOVIE EMPIRE.COM UNTIL THE CURRENT SITUATION IS FULLY RESOLVED!

G'night all and stay tuned for new stuff!

Silent Night, Deadly Night contest winner has been chosen; Chicago Fear Fest now calling for entries!

Well I've finally picked a winner for last month's Silent Night, Deadly Night giveaway! After perusing photos of the six entrants who wanted to get their hands on the entire SNDN franchise, I finally settled on the gentleman that is featured in the images below.

Site updates, new contest, and Hudson Horror Show!

Hey all, its been a while and I sincerely apologize. The last few weeks have been crazy and between coming down with a cold (which is still hanging on despite the best efforts of modern over the counter medication and other remedies), my full-time job, and heading off to Poughkeepsie, NY last weekend for the Hudson Horror Show, I haven't really had time (or the energy) to do much.

But now I'm feeling better, and nothing is really going to be preoccupying my time now that Christmas is mere weeks away, so I plan on getting some reviews typed up (for the Maniac Cop trilogy especially, since I missed doing so last month during the much-touted [by me] MANIAC COP MONTH), maybe a podcast, a few videos/vlogs, as well as an article or two.

And what is wrong with everybody these days? I give away FREE STUFF and almost no one enters to win it? Last month I only had a handful of entries for a brand new MANIAC COP BLU-RAY (won by G.W. Sherwood of Pompano Beach, FL! Congrats sir!) and now this month I'm giving away the entire SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT FRANCHISE ON DVD! (Note: The first two films are OOP and ridiculously expensive, so I'm burning copies of them to complete the set.) And thus far... NO ONE HAS ENTERED!

Finally, before I head off to work today, I have to tell you about how awesome the Hudson Horror Show was. I'm in the process of typing up a full article about my adventures there but I want to at preface that here by saying that this film fest was amazing. It was well-organized, had some cool vendors, and the crowd was fantastic.

Aside from a couple drunks, everyone was polite and not too rowdy, and we all totally dug the trailers and films being projected onto the big screen. There were a few filmstrip snafus but the projectionist got the problem fixed ASAP and yours truly finally got to see a legit, classic Godzilla film on the big screen, AND flex my useless kaiju knowledge muscles in a quick giveaway! I had a blast and I'm definitely going back next Spring!

Well that's all the news that's fit to print; I gotta run. Check out the Vault over the next few days and good luck with your Christmas shopping. (There's only what... sixteen shopping days left until Christmas arrives?) Blog ya later!

I'm currently having a pair of giveaways at the Vault. Starting today, and ending at midnight EST on Oct. 26th, you can enter to win either a Blu-ray (opened but never watched) of "The Omen," or two VHS tapes (previous rentals hailing from the 80's!) of "Basket Case 2" and "Terror in the Aisles." How do you win either prize? Well, it is actually quite easy!

First, if you are on Facebook CLICK HERE to "like" The B-Movie Film Vault. Go ahead... I'll wait. Huh? You don't have a Facebook, but have a Twitter? Well, shucks, I'm on there too! Follow me:  @BMovieFilmVault!

Now that you've done that, (and hopefully shared my site with a few friends) send me an e-mail at vault_master [at] bmoviefilmvault [dot] com with OMEN BLU-RAY GIVEAWAY and/or HORROR VHS GIVEAWAY in the subject line. In the body of your e-mail, include your name, address, and if you're aiming to have the Blu-ray, include a few sentences describing your favorite scene from the movie.

I will be collecting entries until the end of October 26th, then choose  winners at random, announce their  names, and mail out their prizes ASAP. (The goal here is to have your stuff arrive on Halloween!) So get those entries in now while there is still plenty of time and good luck Horror fans!

Oh... wait... what's THIS? There's another giveaway? Well ... yeah, actually. To help spread the word about my other web project, THE RIFF BROTHERS, I am giving away five DVDs! First place gets TWO riffed films of their choice, our long lost, never-before-seen Halloween Special from last year, and an autographed photo. Two runners up will walk away with copies of our Halloween Special. For full details on how to win, and to see the list of films you can choose from CLICK HERE! Thanks for entering and good luck!
